What Is A Wet Belt?
A wet belt (also known as a belt-in-oil system) is a timing belt that runs inside the engine and is lubricated by engine oil. This design is commonly found in many modern petrol and diesel engines and was introduced to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
Over time, the belt can degrade, swell, or shed material into the oil system, which may lead to oil starvation and severe engine damage if not addressed.
